It’s been nearly 15 years since I lived in my hometown. I’m looking forward to returning home.
As I prepare with my wife (who’s never lived there) to move, we dig in, finding out what it’s like now-a-days.
When I last lived there, North Park was near the end of its gentrification and Little Italy wasn’t a place you write home about.
I see the city has grown.
When I last lived there, it politically was right of center, now it, thankfully, has a gay Filipino Mayor and I presume is left of center
I see the city has grown.
When I last lived there, the major industries were military, tourism and medical. Now? You can add craft beer, Biotech, and AI defense, not to mention the amount of YouTubers that live there.
I see the city has grown.
When I last lived there, we were lucky if the Padres had any expectations on them other that to suck. That era seems to have passed. The Padres definitely bring more eyeballs to the city now a days, reminding them it’s paradise in California.
