I've been meaning to make a likes/dislikes list for awhile, so here it is and it's pinned! At the end of the day, this is not a requirements list just a general idea list - if you feel compelled to pay attention to anything, please note the dislikes/please don't send list as that's far more important than anything else!
General About: queer, data analyst, spoonie, autistic, pisces (look, I don't take it seriously but I'm undeniably a Pisces). dog parent to a 15 yr old, 6 lb maltese named Jewel.
Likes
- Animals: Dogs, Seals, Narwals, Owls, Zebras, Okapi, Giraffes, DINOSAURS, anything fictional/mythical. I cannot stress how incredibly neutral I am on cats. So v. neutral. Please skip me for cat cards.
- Colors: Purple, electric blue, RAINBOW
- General Aesthetics: Fantasy, Mythology, Underwater, Dark Academia/Books, Space, Disney.
- Hobbies: video games, reading, card making, travel/tourism, tabletop rpgs that aren't D&D, playing with my dog, fandom shenanigans (cons etc.), board games.
- Stamps: new to collecting / not as serious but mythology, folklore and disney are themes I collect (incl art of such), countries: lithuania, italy, greece, lebanon, syria. specific topics: 2010 vancouver winter olympics and classic universal monsters.
- Types of cards: I really don't have preferences on the types of cards, but I appreciate a good postmark but please never kill yourself getting such!
- Topics that are always good to write me on: tell me about your pets (all types, regardless of my preferences - they're really about the images!), tell me about media you've recently consumed, tell me about something you're looking forward to.
Please Do Not Send:
- Religious Items. I am an agnostic Jew and unless we've had a very deliberate convo about even Judaic-religious wishes (which like, was probably only if you sent me a sympathy card?) please do not send me any religious items.
- Christmas Cards. I cannot stress this enough. Please do not send me Christmas cards. They make my eyes twitch. My family and I do celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah in December, but I cannot say how much I dislike Christmas cards unless you have somehow found an amazing rainbow and/or dinosaur one. Like, please don't. Similarly, I really dislike holiday cards that are really a christmas card in disguise (i.e. it's red and white and green and has a santa on it that says "Happy Holidays". Just. No.) Also, if you want to know more about inclusive holiday carding, see this post I wrote a few years back under my old username: https://www.reddit.com/r/RAoC_meta/comments/qvpnjn/a_friendly_post_about_holiday_card_inclusion/
- Scented Items.
- Glitter that sheds. Confetti is okay (the larger the better, my dog is stupid and may eat it). Sparkly things are a-ok. Just not the shedding herpes of the craft world glitter.
- Bugs, Lizards, Amphibians. Exceptions: cutesy spiders at Halloween etc., butterflies, Dinosaurs, and Kermit the Frog.
- Horror/Genuinely scary stuff. Exceptions: classic universal monsters / phantom of the opera.
