I being laid off for the winter and the time period they’re looking at I was (mostly) self employed or freelance, so- Nothing. Is there any way to get them to work with me by looking at income from work via sites like UpWork, or look at income from the job that’s laying me off?? [Montana]

I took a job this summer and, on Day 1, owner says when they close for winter (3.5 months) everyone gets UI. Rad. Now it’s time, we closed and I learn income was too low for the first quarter of 2022 (mostly self employed or freelance- the one side job I worked for a bit was PT seasonal and apparently during that period it alone did not earn enough) so no UI. Does Anyone know- can they look at a different pay period or possibly look at the job from which I was just temporarily laid off, or do ANYTHING?

I passed up some chances at good jobs because working part time during the winter worked perfectly for me… but now with that initial promise of UI not being a part of it, this was a bad call and it’s going to be a really rough winter unless I can figure this out at least partially:(
