The Cities With The Most Bed Bugs, According To Orkin (Updated 2022) - Your Mileage May Vary
Post Body

Well Kentucky isn't in the top 20. I thought Lewiston Idaho should have been in the top 10 at least. But the bed bug pandemic is everywhere. I wonder why our government hasn't stepped up and put regulations n fines on any rental including motels hotels apartments or industrial leases for them NOT to operate or rent if confirmed bed bugs.l As well as inspection like they do for termites when closing on mortgages. Bed bugs went from what I knew as a myth to working in a motel where we didn't know anything about them and trying to self exterminate one or two rooms to using hair dryers n space heaters to researching the bug and then was ate up n kept up all night getting bit to the exterminators coming out and only extreme heat of ALL units in the building being HEAT treated. Then they hit the news and all walks of life and then fearful n careful (no hand me down furniture or second hand thift storrs) washing all material rather new or gifted (clothes bags pieces) careful who spent the night with me or me them. Avoiding motels/hotels checking reviews or ppl whom have stayed before experiences. When I rent a room I leave EVERYTHING out side while I strip the bed n move it looking for bugs or tracks in the seams or blood smears.. I'm overly paranoid of them and I've self educated and informed how to protect myself if I ever encounter places or situations where they are present. Alcohol, lavender, fabric sheets only detoured them but helped. Covering your skin (long sleeves, pants long socks, hood, gloves). Less skin exposed. In they are lazy and don't like to work their way thru or under clothes. But I guarantee the ONLY way to get to rid or kill the infested dwelling is extreme heat of the whole building. Ridding of ALL furniture especially the beds (mattress AND box spring and cutting each from corner to corner front and back to show it's contaminated for trash removal) electronics and any explosive cans or material needs removed n wiped down as well as plastics and photos. ALL clothing and bedding NEEDS washed hot water dryed to full cycles on high temp. These bugs are costing Americans millions n millions as well as the few businesses properly exterminating them. But the cost isn't what we can pay with inflation n recession since COVID. They will cause paranoia insomnia anxiety health issues skin problems infection irritation physiological illness depression which can lead to domestic abuse drug addiction or relapse mental health crisis physcois crime reports etc . BED BUGS will make ppl insane
