What was the point of being powerful if you weren't more powerful then anyone else? This question was the motivation the witch needed to embark on her weeks long project to create a spell to increase her power. Many other users of magic warned her of the dangers of such a spell. Magical power wasn't something you could simply increase with a spell. But such concerns fell on deaf ears as the witch worked the days away.

Finally, she stood in her study overlooking the runes on the floor. Each symbol was hand crafted and arranged according to the mountains of research she had done. If everything were to go as planned, this ritual would effectively double her power and make her the strongest witch in the world. With all the pride she could carry, she stepped into the ritual circle and began chanting.

The room shook as the runes glowed with an almost blinding light. The witch continued her spell unbothered by the instability of her surroundings. Upon uttering her last word, an explosion of smoke and energy erupted knocking her unconscious.

When she finally woke up, she felt strange. Not only did she feel like her power hadn't increase, it was as if she was weaker then ever before. Had the spell not worked and simply drained her? She didn't get a chance to ponder the question as the second oddity appeared. No longer was she alone in her study as another figure stood before her. This person was identical to her in every way down to her confused expression.

Hey! I'm looking for a partner for a story focused roleplay. I love a good amount of detail with longer posts ranging between 3-4 paragraphs and writing in third person. The above is mostly a general backstory that can serve as our roleplay's setting. I'm completely fine with changing it up and encourage my partner to throw in their own ideas. Please tell me your favorite colour in your first post.

This story involves us playing a witch after a botch spell split her in two. We will each be playing one of these split off witches each possessing half the original's power. Over the course of the RP, we'll be learning how to live together, get along and ultimately figure out how to fuse back together and become one again.

The two split off witches will have their own quirks and personalities but I'm not particularly looking for an "opposites" theme. Rather I'd love to see them as a disastrous duo with both trust and teamwork issues. After all, your worst enemy is usually yourself.

Of course we can change this up to suit your tastes. I'm open to hearing your ideas about this setting and would love to share other variations I have in mind.
