Your Therapy Session, part 4: The fallacy of empowering Sex Work
Post Body

Let's get one thing straight. Sex work is real work. Don't expect me to think or believe that sex work means a woman is lesser of a human or lesser of an equal. The women who do sex work are doing what they feel comfortable doing. They are doing what they want to to. Sex work should be supported and should be destigmatized.

A lot of people also seem to have a problem with the amount of sex work out there. I've heard people complain that nearly every girl now has an onlyfans. How nearly every woman is trying to make money off of her body. Maybe you who are reading this are a sex worker yourself. It's just something that our society is moving towards with more and more bodily autonomy.

But think of where that leads you. Can you really vouch for the ending of objectification and sexualization of female bodies when you go and do it to yourself? Can you really stomach the fact that you think your value to this world and how you can make a living is through showing off your body and debasing yourself for online men. Don't get me wrong, the world economy is fucked and it's getting harder and harder for the common people to make a living. But selling your body to the highest bidder?

You can believe you're as forward thinking and progressive as you want. You can think you're reclaiming your power by choosing when your body can be sexualized. You can even think you have control over what happens to your body when you want it to. But at the end of the day, you're selling yourself to the highest bidder. And for the less than $20 a month I see most onlyfans/fansly/manyvids sites go for, you are selling yourself at a bargain.
