Update: Last idea to find my dads guitar, any help would mean the world
Post Body

Hey Everyone!

Thanks to you guys the owner of Spaceman music reached out but informed me that the buyer is someone who strips old guitars for parts and that that is what indeed became of it. He did however offer to contact the person and successfully managed to recover the hand painted base of the guitar and sent it to me which I now have in my possession.

While it's not the outcome I was hoping for, I'm just happy to have a piece of my dad's prized possessions. I hope his other guitars made it to better homes and didn't meet the same fate but I honestly only really wanted this one guitar back. I would have likely sold the them as well all be it to someone who I thought would give it a good home. Before his death we were talking about selling his Les Paul to a couple of touring musicians as he really hated that it was just sitting there collecting dust.

I think I'm going to spend the next few weeks building some sort of memorial wall mount out of it as he was always encouraging me to learn new skills. I was even thinking (because he would have totally loved the idea) of having a speaker on it that would play his original music that he made using the guitar, that way the guitar would still live on in a way. Though it's gonna take me years to go through all his music as he had been writing and recording his own music since he was 14.

Anyway I just wanted to give some good news to everyone here as we definitely need some with all the shit that's going on. If you guys would like I can continue to give some updates over time but for now I'll leave you with a few videos of my Dad playing the guitar.

While we have our silly rivalries, you'll always have a friend in this /u/DowntownTorontonian!

Stay Strong /r/Ottawa!

Edit: Forgot to add the videos.
