Got extremely ill at boot camp (sad story)
Post Body

I had left for mcrd around I think a month in a half and I just so happen to fall ill and had gotten really sick. I woke up in the hospital and was told what happened to me. I had gotten pharyngitis and had a serious case to where it was deteriorating my body. It’s like strep throat but abit worse. I ignored it for 3 days I wanted to tuff it out because I thought it would set me back if I went to medical. Sadly I made the wrong choice. The cleared me from the hospital the same day at night and put me on bed rest. While on bed rest while the squad bay was empty i noticed that when I was walking to the head I trickled abit. I stopped and looked to see a wet spot I ignored it and went about my day. Then when they put me on light duty while drilling I trickled again but it was more this time. Lucky I was wearing deserts and it didn’t show as it ran off but my skives and socks were of need of changing and a shower. I thought to myself this can’t be happening. As a DL for me I was abit worried , because I didn’t want to become incontinent. So I decided to go to medical. They did some test on me over a few weeks and I was still wetting myself which I felt abit embarrassed but my bunk mates understood what was going on and tried to help me hide it from the DIs as long as possible because it’s an immediate discharge and everything came back negative for infections and disease but he said that when I fell ill the sickness probably weakened my pelvic floor muscles. So they decided to reduce my water intake from 8 canteens to 2 canteens then 1 canteen. At that point I was really dehydrated and was unable to keep up with my training. And I was still wetting but not as much as before. It tried using the head as much as before getting out there and doing training. But it came to a point where they had to drop me. It took a while but I’m home now but now I feel abit sad that my military journey has came to an end.🥺 I’m still abit sick but they did clear me for pharyngitis so I could start my Els and rsp. It only took 3 days. The day before I left I didn’t drink anything after afternoon evening and the next days morning chow. When I got to the airport I went to the bathroom and prepared for my flight home which was abit stressful because I was worried I’d wet the seat. I told my family and they understand what happened. So now I can wear diapers without hiding them. I did explain about the abdl diapers to them as I wanted something with color and cool designs and not just a plain diaper which I have a few but that’s if I’m in public for something important, they understood and all of my friends understand as well a few actually came out as abdl so I’m pretty happy abit. But it’s going to be a tuff journey now. I might not be a marine but I have learned to keep moving forward and press onwards with this challenge in my life.
