You're not some acolyte looking for a lead on quests at the local tavern, you're a well established adventurer by this point. You helped thwart the assassination attempt on the Duchess of Nella a few seasons back, you were part of the party that found the lost tomb of the Crimson General and sealed him in there permanently. You've helped handle invasions, you've negotiated with creatures from other planes of existence, you've cast spells with a thought that would have seemed impossibly difficult when you were still learning.

And somehow, you still made the mistake of trying that summoning spell.

You waited for the conditions to be right- no moon, the deepest night. You traced out the sigils on the floor, you lit the incense. You called out the phrases on the scroll, you let one drop of blood fall to the floor, the magic swelled... And you waited. All for nothing to happen. You sighed, cleaning it all up, heading to bed, unsure if you should be relieved or disappointed that it was all a waste of time.

...save that it wasn't.

You see, the spell was not a strong one. It called me. I felt the pull. And I stepped through, at least as much as I could. Perhaps just a fraction of my power made it through, yes. But I am now in your world, entangled with you. And I will slowly make myself known to you.

Hey, thinking about some worldbuilding and D&D sort of smut today. You'll be a spellcaster who accidentally binds a demon to herself. I'll start communicating you in your dreams, gaining power, starting to be able to influence the way you see the world and corrupt your goals, making you into a weapon for my own efforts.
