I practice sex magic with and without kink.  My style leans toward Hermetic and usually includes BDSM.  Both kink and magic require a great deal of discipline, training and practice to do safely.  “Safely” is of course relative as neither of these things are completely safe.  There is always the possibility of unintended outcomes.

Many people who claim to want to learn about sex magic are really just looking for another way to get laid.  The same can also be said for kink.  That is not what I do.

That being said, here are the most common questions I get about sex magic.

WHAT IS SEX MAGIC?

Sex magic is a practice that involves using sexual energy to manifest desires, achieve spiritual growth, and connect with higher powers. It’s based on the idea that sexual energy is one of the most powerful forms of energy we can harness. By directing this energy through intention and ritual, we can create powerful outcomes.

Here’s a simple breakdown:

1. Set an Intention: Before you start, set a clear intention or goal for what you want to achieve. This could be anything from personal growth to manifesting a specific desire.  When you’re starting out, keep it simple.
2. Ritual and Focus: During the sexual act, whether alone or with a partner, maintain focus on your intention. This can involve visualizations, affirmations, or specific rituals designed around your goal.
3. Energy Release: As you reach the peak of sexual arousal (orgasm), you direct the energy towards your intention. This sends a powerful wave of energy into the universe, amplifying your goal.
4. Aftercare and Reflection: After the ritual, it’s important to ground yourself and reflect on the experience. This can involve meditation, journaling, or simply taking some quiet time to integrate the energy.

…that’s the answer people want to hear.  

Transmutation

A better answer for beginners is to do sex magic without orgasm.  This does not mean edging or any kind of genital stimulation.  This is called Sex Transmutation.  Build up sexual energy and channel it into your work as you work toward your intended goal.  This build up could be from watching a short porn video or flirting with a cute acquaintance, whatever turns you on.

“...as you work toward your intended goal.”  It should be noted that magic doesn’t always look like magic.  We still have to make an effort.  If this really is our goal, we should be working towards it even when we’re not doing a ritual.  I’m not just going to do some chants, have sex, and expect a house to appear without telling anyone I want to build a house.  Sometimes it does look like magic.  Sometimes the permit just gets approved without issues.

IS SEX MAGIC POWERFUL?

Or is it just fun?

Sex magic is definitely powerful, but its power isn’t just in the act itself. It’s all about the intention, focus, and spiritual alignment.  The energy generated during sex is one of the most intense and accessible forms of energy we have; it’s available to everyone. When we harness and direct this energy properly, it can be incredibly transformative.

IS IT EASY TO PARTICIPATE IN SEX MAGIC?

While sex magic is very accessible, it is not necessarily 'easy' to use. Like most magic, it requires a significant level of discipline and a clear understanding of your intention and goals. You need a deep connection with yourself and your partner, and you have to treat the practice with the respect it deserves. Mindfulness, consent, and clear communication are crucial. Without these elements, the practice can become unfocused or even harmful.

Can it be done without a deep connection to your partner?  Yes, but that is not for beginners.

HOW DO I BEGIN?

I always tell people to start by noticing something new.  Pay attention to your surroundings, especially in familiar places, and look for something you had never noticed before.

For beginners, I recommend starting with a solid foundation in meditation. Breath and energy work can be a great place to start. Knowing how to control and direct your energy, set intentions, and keep your mind focused will greatly enhance your practice. As with any form of magic, the results you get are directly related to the effort you put into it. So take your time, be mindful, and enjoy the journey! 

The majority of people who want to be practitioners don’t put in the time to build a foundation for this to work.  Discipline is key.  An Olympian doesn’t just wake up one day and excel at a sport.  It takes commitment, dedication and time.
