Hello everyone and good morning!
I hope everyone is having a nice start to their weekend. I had a question to ask as I have been in a brokerage for just over a year now. Our company has a TMS side as well.
I have had the last two months sitting around 25-30K at 10% once we hit the 30K , otherwise 7.5%.
I am an account manager, not having to make outbound calls.
With some of my bigger clients being project based, it looks like it could slow down, right as Iโm beginning to really pick things up.
The company pulled me yesterday and offered me to help run a TMS signed client that we have locked in with and has grown.
If I am to take this position, the ceiling basically caps. I would safely bring in 60-80K a year for a year or so.
To make the same I would have to stay around 25-35K all year every month in the brokerage. This while having 4-5 salesmen still constantly pulling brokerage accounts for me.
Both are a gamble, just depends if I want to scrap for freight or lock in contracted, make my name look better for helping out, but then I lose all my accounts I worked 1.5 years to grow, while I watch the sole other account manager in the brokerage go from 40K to 65K due to my book if I leave.
Money isnโt extremely tight, which makes me feel like I should gamble on myself. Any input is welcome as Iโm going fucking mad.
Thanks and have a great weekend. Stay safe and warm!
