As China and the United States hurtle toward all-out war in 2029, The Elephant and the Whale takes readers on a thrilling journey through the eyes of a diverse cast of characters. From a corrupt Chinese general to a Uighur marine to a Korean e-sports player turned drone pilot, each character offers a unique perspective on the conflict. Along the way, readers gain a deeper understanding of the forces driving the war and the complex web of alliances and rivalries shaping the world of tomorrow. With its mix of action, suspense, and social commentary, The Elephant and the Whale is a must-read for anyone interested in the future of war and global politics.
Hello! Some of you may remember me as the person who wrote some pretty good [imho] effortposts back in 2020-21 or so talking about various armed forces, the military situation in East Asia, other stuff like that, like a bit explaining how Azerbaijan used Turkish-made drones and a NATO-standardized military to defeat Armenia in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War.
Anyway, today I have written a novel. Why? First all, why not. Second, the current competitive entrants on the market are... frankly, awful. Battlestar Galactica had a better idea of how hacking worked. The 2003 version, not the 2027 one, obviously, don't watch the 2027 version, it's shit. So thus I have written "The Elephant and the Whale" to be a book that both captures the atmosphere, if not the specifics, of a potential World War III, and to give the reader a degree of both education about China and the military situation in the region, and also entertainment. If it can do all three successfully, I will be very happy indeed.
This thread also serves as an AMA for anything I am qualified or not-qualified to talk about. Ask away about why Taiwan is not Ukraine [Ukraine is more competent and better armed], why China is not Russia [my god, Russia is a joke], Filipino politics [fuck should I know], the Burmese resistance, or especially my book, both realistic and... less realistic parts.
