Memory (A Labyrinth inspired short story) (Female Perspective) (NOT NSFW)
Post Body

It sounded familiar and somehow elusive even still.
The haunting touch of a leather clad hand holding her
made the nerves on her lower back tingle slightly as the song played.
“I’ll place the sky within your eyes”
Her voice was a whisper as she repeated the soft promise, unbeknown of her flawless repetition.

She couldn’t have possibly forgotten a song such as this.
Along with the hidden memory that went along with it.
“I’ll place the moon within your heart”
The way the man sang made her heart race and the hairs on the back of her neck stand at attention.
But why was that?
The singer’s voice was hypnotizing to say the least, but for her to act like this?

“But I’ll be there for you...As the world falls down”
Lips that sparkled ever so slightly appeared in her mind, singing the words to her.
Why has she forgotten?

The memory, yet faint, yet hidden, felt tangible at the same time.
If she closed her eyes, she could smell hints of peaches and spice.
She could hear laughter and whispers around her.
She felt herself being gently spun around, swaying.

“I’ll lay my love, between the stars”
The sound of a bell tolling brought her out of her daydream.
“It's not fair...why can’t I just simply remember?” the girl whispered with a frustrated sigh. She glanced at her watch, it was now 6pm.
It surprised her a bit that the church’s bell tower could still be heard in the club.
6pm met that mass was about to start for those who felt that worship would save their soul.
Before she knew it, the bar roared in applause as the singer bowed his head in a simple thanks.

She felt inclined to applaud the man, even though she was caught up in her own thoughts for most of the song.
The young woman’s pale green eyes flicked up to the small stage where the man was.
Her gaze met the singer’s and a small gasp escaped her parted lips.
Mismatched eyes stared back at her.
She saw him smile at her… no...not smile.
It was a smirk and it made the young woman tear away from eyes that held a curious, teasing gaze in them. Something about the eyes… something about the voice.

In a fluid motion, she slid off the stool and made her way outside, suddenly feeling like she needed fresh air. Her heels clicked against the steps as she made her way back up to the entrance.
The glow of a red neon sign lit the sidewalk in front of the club she was to meet her friend at.
Groaning slightly at her ever building frustration,
She looked up, letting the red hue wash over her.
The sign read, “The Underground”.
