My typewriter collection is almost complete - for now. The last piece missing is a portable Pre-WWII typewriter with the following criteria.
It would be great if you could suggest some models, because so far, I had no luck on my local 2nd hand market.
- Pre-WWII/Pre-1945
- Portable or ultraportable (i.e. no larger than a Hermes 3000)
- Glass-top keys (white characters on black are OK, black characters on white are preferred)
- Black smooth glossy piano lacquer finish
- 4 row keyboard (1 and 0 preferred, but not mandatory)
- Preferably from a European manufacturer
- Ideally standard size spools
- Has a case
So far, the Remington Noiseless Portable seems like a good fit, BUT it's rather expensive here in Europe, and I'm not sure if I appreciate the design choice to omit the return lever.
So any hints to a more budget-friendly alternative would be appreciated. Thank you!
