Looking at typewriters on Etsy

I've noticed there's quite a few decent looking typewriters on etsy. I've never owned or used a typewriter before, so I'm wondering what things I should consider as I look at these. What are some essential criteria I should be looking at before I buy? Some things that are must-haves when buying a typewriter, signs that clearly say "do not buy this one".
