Do I/should I be taking my blood sugars daily/before meals
Post Body

Recently diagnosed Type 2, my doctor put me on Metaformin 2,000mg a day and Ozempic .5mg once a week. My mother and Grandmother were both Type 1 so of course they were on insulin and checked blood sugars all the time. However I fully admit Iā€™m a big baby when it comes to needles and the like so pricking my fingers on a daily basis sounds like absolute hell for me.

I will note that my doctor never said anything about checking my blood sugars daily, their opinion is that the Metaformin and dietary changes along with the Ozempic will help me. I am trying to eat healthier and exercise more but ironically I fell at the gym and fractured my sacrum šŸ˜‚ so been waiting on that to heal so I can get back into it.

Iā€™m also in the process of moving so with the stress of that along with the back injury I am not eating as healthy as I should. I am set to go back in June to have my next round of bloodwork to check my levels and I am going to see a diabetes and nutritional specialist next week.

I am 31M and my A1C was measured at 11.3, I cannot remember all the other numbers as it was a bunch thrown at me at once. I currently weigh around 240lb
