It's July, which means if you're in the northern hemisphere, the weather is warm and sunny and the beach calls! (Sorry to our southern hemisphere friends who are in the dead of winter right now).
So we've got a new theme for this month's contest! As with last time, any medium counts for entry. (Artists of the drawing and video making type, just so you all know, writing stole the show last month so you better step up your game!)
Here's the lowdown on this month's contest:
- Theme: Beach Days- anything with water/sand-related (I know it's not an actual type) pokemon from any run, or something cool involving any of our teams enjoying a fun day at the beach (trainers are okay too)!
- Medium: Any
- Deadline to submit: July 29th at 0001 EDT (I figured out it was daylight time this time! #Kappa )
- Voting period: July 29th 0002-July 31st 2200 EDT
As always, reddit gold for the top three finishers. We'll be doing an extra prize for first place. Last month CiphiriusKane won a 2 month subscription to the TwitchPlaysPokemon stream! This month's prize for first place is an icon commission of the winner's choice from our very own /u/xe_cute !
Here's a fun little thing for this month as well: Optional Bonus Prize: We'll have a separate vote on any entries that make the best use of sand being irritating in a line, panel, entire entry, or whatever. That's right, we're pretty much prequel memeing it up here, except that it's a beach, so sand makes sense in this context. Anyway, entries don't have to include any bit on sand being irritating, but if they do they'll be entered into a second voting category where they can win an additional prize! Huzzah!
As with last month, voting will consist of replies under a master comment for each entry. We're sticking with one vote per user for this month, although I've gotten some good suggestions on possible voting formats for the future, so stay tuned. Also we'll have a 24 hour runoff in the event of ties for any of the top 3 spots.
Okay, wall of text ending now. Enjoy the sunny days of July and submit some cool stuff! Thanks everyone!
