Today our theme is that time Twitch 'Watched' Pokemon (and other intermission shenanigans)! During the Crystal/Emerald intermission of Season 1, we were having some fun on the Game Boy Advance emulator, and streamer decided to put one of the old Pokemon episode carts on the stream. Starting with the first ever episode of Pokemon, and finishing with the Squirtle Squad episode, Twitch was treated to the strangest viewing of an anime episode ever: half Youtube Poop and half typical TPP randomness. The event gave birth to the "Ice guns we're packing" meme along with others.
How to participate is simple. All you have to do is comment with whatever experience you had that you feel like sharing. Maybe you want to link your favourite comic, art piece, writing, or perhaps you want to recount something significant that happened during that time period that's related to Twitch Watched Pokemon or other non-PBR/Stadium 2 intermission moments, an explanation of your favourite aspect of it, or whatever you want. Our goal is to celebrate what we've known and love about TPP.
The next topic will be all about the starting Pokemon through-out TPP runs. This event will begin on January 25th, so stay tuned!
The intermission between Crystal and Emerald was one of my favourites (non-American spelling confirmed-you're welcome /u/Deadinsky66) for all of its hilarity and the fact that it was a full week of hype before Emerald began. Learning a lesson from the Red/Crystal intermission that wasn't even a day long, Streamer decided to give us a week off from fighting baddies to putz around on the Game Boy Advance. At some point Streamer decided to put on a Pokemon episode for us, but left us in control of the playback buttons, which lead to a completely incoherent tale about some kid being shocked 100 times in a row by a Pikachu and two people shouting "Ice guns we're packing!" repeatedly.
This was just one of the many shenanigans the stream has gotten into when something completely random has been left in our control...perhaps there is another intermission moment that was your favourite. This one will always stick out to me because it was during the first full intermission we had ever had, and was a nice, fun respite from the much darker and serious lore that had been generated during the Crystal run.
Other top intermission moments for me include the time we played Robopon and gave our character a not-so-nice name and of course the time Deku put on a crazy Ocarina concert for us.
