My partner and I went for the first time last night and the experience was great.

We got there around 10:30. It would have been a little tricky to find if we hadn’t seen another well-dressed couple with a tote bag walking up to a door and ringing a buzzer to be let up. The staff were great and incredibly kind as we checked in. We didn’t receive any offer for a tour, which I know some other people have spoken about, but we’d read enough about it on this sub that we need what we were in for.

The playroom was completely empty when we got in, and the dance floor was pretty quiet. By 11:00 the floor was moderately populated and a few couples started making their way to the back. We headed back there and there was a smaller play area on the left and a larger one on the right. The one on the left already had 5 or 6 couples in it and we assumed we’d be too close to them if we tried to fit in, so we instead started things off on the right side of the room in the corner. It was a while before people started filling up the right side (we realized pretty quickly that though your space will be respected, you end up very close to other couples in the area, which really made things even hotter). In retrospect we would have probably squeezed ourselves into the left side portion so we didn’t have to wait as long before we got to watch other couples more closely while we played.

When we finished we were able to rinse off in the shower before making our way back to the dance floor around 1:00. Surprisingly it was completely empty—nobody was dancing. There were a couple of couples sitting around on the couches, but the area was nearly empty. Another couple we’d met on the way in said it was way quieter than they’d seen it in the past. I’m kind of glad it wasn’t packed because it made it easy to make space in the back room while we were figuring things out our first time. Basically everyone who was there was all in the back at the same time.

A few couples introduced themselves to us, and since we’re just getting into things it was hard to tell what was someone coming onto us and what was just someone being friendly, but we were both amazed at how warm and kind everyone was. It made everything incredible low key and comfortable. We left around 1:30 and there were still a few couples filing in.
