The first two seasons are classic, theres more cooper, more bob, and in my opinion there’s less moments where the progress of the story comes to a stand still.
On the other hand, despite taking its time to pick up at certain points the return has more moving parts to the story, and possibly more to think about. I’d say the acting is a little better in general, and it really is such a great continuation of the show’s narrative. Rarely does a show make such a comeback that still feels so in touch with the original story.
Then there’s fire walk with me which I think doesn’t get enough love. I didn’t like it that much the first time I watched it honestly, thinking there wasn’t much to it other than showing laura palmer’s darker side. But I rewatched it while I was still finishing my first viewing of the return and noticed that a lot of revealing details were given in the movie. Its the first time you hear mention of the blue rose, and judy. The return makes a lot of little nods to it that some people might not have noticed. Like the scene with the one armed man at the intersection.
Anyway what do you guys think? Do you think the return is more rewatchable?
