As a newcomer to the show, what was made of Diane seeing another version of herself at the motel in Part 18? Haven't heard many theories on that particular scene. Why did she keep that information from Cooper if the Diane in the car when he left to go into the motel office was the same Diane when he came back? Are we meant to understand that Cooper might have encountered another version of himself too when he went into the motel office to check out the room? If the Diane in the car remains her same self, does she understand that the Cooper that comes back to the car is not the same Cooper who left it to go into the motel office? That would reframe their sex scene that follows as well. The look on Diane-in-the-car's face suggests to me some kind of dread, but not necessarily horror. Almost like she knows that something inevitable is happening, that perhaps she is stuck in an unbreakable loop? Which Diane and Cooper do you think we're seeing in that sex scene? Which I guess also leads in to the question of what's next for these Dianes. Sorry if this has been discussed ad nauseam - I know I'm late to the party!
