Something I just randomly remembered:

My wife and I have very different tastes in…pretty much everything. She likes pop, I like Terry Riley. She likes Nora Ephron, I like Stanley Kubrick. She likes King of Queens, I like Twin Peaks.

As soon as The Return got a release date, I was counting down the days. I couldn’t believe it was happening. I was so excited and made her promise to watch every episode about this quirky FBI agent and the mysterious goings on in this small town.

And she did. She watched every. Single. Episode. I was, like all of us, absolutely baffled. But she had never seen so much as a single episode the original series.

I honestly don’t know how she did it. She didn’t seem to enjoy it, and I totally would have let her off the hook. I guess she’s a woman of her word?
