There was a lot of demand for a scotch tasting so I have decided to see if I can pull a BYOB tasting together. So here are the rules.

1. You must bring a mostly full bottle of scotch to let everyone taste. Expect to not bring this bottle home. I don't know how many people are showing up at the moment we won't be doing precision measure and I don't want anyone complaining that they only expected to pour out 2 shot and ended up having to pour out the bottle. That being said you will take the excess home. If your generosity and budget allow for more bottles that is totally up to you, other then extra thanks don't expect anything else.

2. Expect roughly 1 - 1.5 oz per person, each person will pour their own bottle so as to not feel cheated.

3. You must bring your own glass, even if it is plastic it needs to be clear so the person pouring can see the level. Other then that I don't care if it is a tumbler, rocks, highball, sniffer.

4. Bring any accouterments you care for this included ice, water, soda, whatever.

5. I guess spitting is fine, I'm personally not that sort of gal but I'm also not one to judge. Spittoon will not be provided.

6. Make sure you have a ride. I'm guessing this isn't going to be something that you drive yourself home from.

7. This is the most important DO NOT BE A DICK. You brought $1000 bottle and have a cut crystal sniffing glass and you only drink it straight don't look down on the kid that brought a bottle of Chivas and needs some ice and soda that's how he likes it. Kid with Chivas and soda that guy with the $1000 bottle is being extra nice he isn't a rich prick he is a man with passion if you aren't going to listen at least be respectful. Everyone likes what they like, maybe someone can't drink your bottle no biggie, it happens. You can say something is bad to a point don't shit on another mans bottle he was probably sharing a personal favorite. This will be a very informal and friendly gathering just act accordingly. Any breaking of this rule and you will dealt with unkindly by me.

The Tasting will be tentatively at the Golden Leaf tobacconist (277 7th St W, St Paul, MN 55102) on February 27 starting at 4, the venue is open till 10. If demand is larger then expected we may have to move venue. Make sure to check this post before you head out. Also, be warned this is a full smoking facility there won't be a no smoking area.

I'm asking everyone that plans to attend please post the bottle you plan to bring below so we don't end up with doubles and I get a solid idea of who is coming. The shy can PM me.

Finally it should go without saying that this is a 21 years old event. I'm not carding everyone but if you mom drops you off I'm going to ask, don't be offended.

UPDATE 2/25/2016 I have gotten ZERO people signed up for this. I'd like to thank everyone that bothered to tell me why I'm wrong about the date, the time, the location, the fact that it's at a smoking facility. If someone doesn't bother to get back to me to sign up before Friday night I'm canceling this.
