Strictly speaking, this isn't really Twin Cities-related, other than the fact that I am here. I already have a judge for our region (although if you do want to be a judge in this region, I suspect Tom would be interested in some help)
If you are familiar with the CC Community Music Awards from the past, are doing things a bit differently this year. I need some help. We need judges for following regions:
Great Lakes (#IL, #IN, #OH, #MI)
Americas (other than USA)
If we have a massive influx of volunteer judges, we can break up the continents. Judges do not need to live in the region, though that's the case for every other region so far.
There will be one category: Artist of the Year.
Presumably the artist would have released something in the 2019 calendar year, but maybe not if they have done a lot of incredible live shows, or fundraising work, or whatever.
Yes, having a single judge for a region leads to incredible bias, but we have tried having judge panels in the past, and it just hasn't worked. If we get big enough, I would really like to bring panels back.
Judges will not be eligible, though they could be eligible in the future.
There is not a deadline date right now, but early 2020.
Please let me know if you have questions.
