So I made a post recently about the theory that the next era will feature the color purple. (Purple Era theory Part 1)
One of the comments (shout out, u/viiv0_) mentioned that the self titled album cover features a PURPLE lightbulb above the bed.
Part of my theory referenced the Divine Mercy painting of Jesus transmuting light into red and blue. During the Clancy world tour, they blatantly use this exact lighting scheme (during My Blood at least). In the bible, Jesus is referenced as the light, "the eye is the lamp of the body," and the lightbulb above the body on the album cover is... purple. When the light comes out Jesus' body in the Divine Mercy painting, it splits between blue and red. But when you find your way back Jesus, the colors merge and become purple. Jesus is "king" and purple has historically been called a royal color (created by the blood of insects -- my blood). It reminds me of how people say your blood is blue when it's in your veins, but turns red when it leaves the body.
You can see the overlap of the light, making a purple line (the line???? new song?) between Tyler and Josh.
Anyway I thought that tidbit was fascinating and I love the creativity of this band. They're able to channel some really amazing parable and symbolism for us.
