This will annoy some of you I'm sure but it made me laugh and feel kinda dumb. I was watching the Overcompensate music video last night and realized that the Clancy who was practicing his movements and routine in the attic room alongside Josh drumming is the same guy who is revealed at the end of the music video. Meaning the Clancy mask is used to conceal who is being seized, and so they have a unitarian identity of "Clancy," regardless of the mask bearer.
"We're Clancy and so are you"
Literally didn't occur to me that the masked person was a seized citizen. Idk why I assumed Clancy was Clancy/Tyler in every single Clancy mask scene, but I'm impressed to realize that is not the case lol. I have no idea why I didn't put that together upon watching this video probably 50x by now. I have in depth lore analysis posts and I missed something so blatant. I laughed at myself last night after this experience.
I'm wondering how many of the moving/dancing Clancy shots in Overcompensate are featuring the non-Tyler actor, because his eye area is super convincing, but different. (“And then by the time I catch in my peripheral”).
Do you have any super delayed lore realizations?
