So I noticed Clancy is literally dressed like a vulture or some (more graceful?) bird of prey:
The Dema have vulture faces
I mean, they literally watch Clancy via the vultures.
So if Clancy becomes the bird, he becomes the watcher and the messenger--the message man. Birds are often uses as messengers or retriever and deliverers of information and hope after periods of darkness. (The dove that appears in the Noah's arc story). Just like the birds chirping in Paladin Strait.
We hear the birds chirping interlude in the song, the merch has birds circling, the Isle of flightless birds, the number 3 is often associated with bird symbolism (Gemini, duality) and the holy spirit. Another relative example is the father with his 2 sons (3 total people)--one being the prodigal son.
I mean, Josh and Tyler are 2, and "the line" connects them (making 3 lines in the logo).
I assume this is the line that also metaphorically connects the living to the dead in these tales, and fathers to sons, and friends to banditos, and Dema to the vultures, and Clancy to everything.
We see a lot of mirroring and duality in this lore (Josh and Clancy mirrored by the male and female banditos as just one example).
banditos mirroring josh and clancy (mirrored)
3 are gathered (father son holy spirit / the father, the son, and the prodigal son)
3 are gathered -- then more help is shown further in the frame in the Navigating video
when 3 are gathered, the prayer multiplies
"For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them" is a Bible verse from Matthew 18:20
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” Matthew 6:26
I recommend you read the Parable of the Lost Son if you haven't already... (here's a link)
There's a concerning line that relates to Clancy's outfit.
"Bring the best robe and put it on him."
The father calls for a robe for his son, but only when he finally faces the fact that he is a sinner and asks for forgiveness (a "heavy dirty soul", "asks forgiveness THREE times"), and that brings power and love back into the prodigal son's life.
When Clancy reclaims his "former self" aka the part of him that is imperfect, he gains the power to embody or carry the "spirit." He is able to face the Dema without fear, because he conquered the scariest thing--the conceptual death of the part of him who sinned/was imperfect. Through that ego death, he is reborn, and more powerful. They think they need to "kill" Clancy to control him, but it just resurrects him as stronger.
Edit to add:
We see the vultures hovering above the banditos (a representation of the past that follows them, but also a sign of hope once change is embraced--a living reminder), but Tyler is wearing the "skin" of a vulture. Like he is taking up his cross, metaphorically and carrying his former self to the rebirth, and leading everyone else to do so. He's not afraid of the vultures anymore because he has decided to use his pain as his power. Also I mean, Josh has a cross on his shirt, tilted like it would be if he were to be carrying one.
Clancy becomes the "living reminder," rather than being scared of being reminded.
I saw a post that said the birds chirping in Paladin Strait turned into a code that means "I remember" in German.
