The nitrite levels in my tank are reading high. I first noticed they were very high before moving my turtle into a 30 gallon tub. She's just under 3" carapace length. I probably would have been better off starting with new water, but I moved 25% of the old water into the new tank, and used Nite Out II starter bacteria according to the label. I also added some live plants, but she is destroying the as quick as I add most of them. I also have 6 small fish in the tank. For the first week, the nitrate and nitrite levels were coming down steadily at first, but have come . The Nitrite levels remained a little high, between 3-5 ppm. The nitrite levels have come back up around a steady 25 ppm. I'm dong weekly 20% water changes.
