I just had a minor 1 car accident. I’m sick about it. I have personal insurance with a $1000 deductible. I’m not sure if it covers P2P rentals. I purchased the standard plan ($500 Max OOP)
If it does cover P2P, do I still have to pay the $1000 deductible or am I limited to $500 and then Turo covers the other $500? Sounds like a dumb question.
If it doesn’t cover P2P, then I’m limited to $500 and Turo kicks in.
If this is true, why would I disclose that I have insurance? I purchased covered from Turo, if they are willing to be primary if someone legitimately has no other coverage for the same price as me, it seems logical to not disclose (but clearly not ethical).
I have 4 more days on the trip. The damage is cosmetic. Should I tell the host now, or wait until the end of the trip? My concern is the potential for him cancelling my trip if I disclose now and I need a car.
