Mystery wood from a scrap bin (possibly beech), about 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches
There aren't many things I make that I am genuinely happy with, but this is definitely one of them. I'm especially proud of it because it's only the second thing I've turned "all by myself" - and the lid clicks!
For anyone interested, I followed along with Shawn Graham's video class. He does a lot of intro to turning videos and other cool things as well and explains things in a way that make sense to me as a beginner. I also followed along with his video on turning your first bowl, which I'm also happy with and will post once it convinces me that it's not going to crack (I have no affiliation, don't know him at all, just like his videos).
