Iām really wanting to get into turning but have been hesitant to pull the trigger on a used lathe vs new. Iām usually a buy once cry once tool buyer but have been considering a used lathe that comes with a bunch of extras. Locally there is nova 1624-44 available, comes with 2 supernova chucks, face plates and jaw sets as well as 17-18 different Sorby knives/gouges etc. They want 1500 for the set up which if I were to just buy all those tools new would far exceed 1500 I know nothing about nova lathes and hear sorby are over priced but it seems like a really good deal. Thoughts on the lathe? Will I out grow fast?
