I went to school in Tulsa between the 90s and the late 00s (class of 09). I don’t remember Tulsa School of Arts and Sciences doing much sex Ed. outside of covering the reproductive system. The legal side of sex or the ethical side never came up. They never discussed age of consent laws or age appropriateness or online safety, nor did Byrd Middle School. It seems like this would be important information. I find it puzzling that it was left out. Given that the age of consent is 16 (I believe parental approval is still required). Shouldn’t the law be mandatory in sex. Ed?
