So, I am not currently pregnant, but I have had three early miscarriages. I also have some other health issues (rheumatoid arthritis, depression being treated with citalopram) and one of my doctors (psychiatrist) mentioned that I might be better off not working during the next pregnancy, at least at first. Work is one of the sources of my anxiety and depression, so at first, this seems like a great plan. On the other hand, it would mean feeling guilty for being off work while receiving full wages (that's the way it works in my country) and feeling useless. But I need to decide on whether I think this is a good idea before I get pregnant again.
Having time to worry about the pregnancy is not an issue - I do that whether I am working or not.
Has anyone here been signed off work for the first part of or the whole pregnancy after multiple losses (and mostly because of these previous losses)? What was your doctor's reasoning? Did it help you or did it just make you more anxious?
