It's because of tiktok and the emphasis on aesthetic. These confused kids are so obsessed with having and sticking to one aesthetic that it's taken over their entire life and identity, to the point where it consumes them.

I have a general aesthetic, do I devote all my time and effort into it? No, because that's unhealthy, I have other interests. Not even all my clothes are one aesthetic.

Also to note on the whole gender doesn't equal pronouns. Pronouns are a way to signify and refer to someone in the shorthand that correlates to their gender. And (as someone who is autistic) I realize that we generally have to accept certain things and ways to behave in a society. I can't always stim in certain places. If these people want to use xenogenders and such, do it within a small friend group and don't expect the entire public to be okay with it.
