Instant armchair diagnosis from the trans community needs to stop
Post Body

This was originally written as a post for /r/honesttransgender as this message really wasn't intended for transsexuals, but the mods over there, in their infinite wisdom, decided not to approve it, so I'm posting this here instead.

This is becoming more and more prevalent. Especially here on Reddit. I don't care what your views are, but the fact of the matter is that there is a large portion of the online trans community here in the main subs that like to diagnose people as having gender dysphoria or being trans after reading one simple post. Pushing that you will never be rid of these feelings and that you have to transition right away. The sooner the better. While I do not disagree with these sentiments in some cases, this kind of talk should not be allowed in the subs. When people come to a sub questioning whether they are trans or not, we should encourage people to talk to qualified mental and health professionals that are well versed in this area.

Stop diagnosing people yourselves. Leave it to the professionals.

Mods need to start taking action and implement rules that prohibit armchair diagnosis from unqualified individuals responding to a couple of paragraphs.
