This question is from several cis people online that I’ve heard. It’s annoying because they clearly lack understanding of how this works and what we do.

If I avoid the public bathroom because I can’t use the urinal and would out myself by using the stall, what makes these people think I’d willingly use a trans bathroom? I know a lot of this is geared towards trans women and I’ve seen the threats that are given to them surrounding the bathroom usage. That’s what makes me confused on why these people think a trans woman or man would use a trans bathroom when we know there are people who want to harm us in real life if they saw one of us in public.

And you know these bathrooms won’t be maintained like the other ones. It might be vandalized and damaged too as a form of hate crime. It could also be in the worst possible place imaginable.

Majority of trans people avoid public bathrooms anyway and the ones who pass and are able to use the desired ones just fine would continue doing so. It’s pointless to have a trans bathroom and the people who want this have a severe lack of understanding of what would happen.
