Post Body

I have gender dysphoria. Although, if you don’t, I still fully support your right to decide what you want to do with your own body as an adult. I may not understand how or why you would want to change if you can be content with what you were born as, but do as you please. However, understand that you and I are different. We have different reasons to why we do what we do. We have different feelings about our bodies. We are different. If my right to gender affirming care was taken away from me, I wouldn’t be able to live due to the dysphoria that I would go through. If your right to gender affirming care was taken away from you, you may be upset but ultimately you could still live a fulfilling life.

This is why it is so important that people with gender dysphoria are the loudest in the community, yet recently that has seemed to change. Transphobia, misgendering, etc ultimately hurts us more and will often trigger dysphoria. So, it’s crucial that you let us speak on issues in the community. Again, I don’t mind that people without gender dysphoria are transitioning but I’m doing it as a cure. My life is on the line.

Not to stereotype, but it seems like many of the people who claim they don’t have gender dysphoria also participate in the use of neopronouns or xenogenders, both of which are highly debated. If you are the loudest in the community, and you argue constantly for the use of controversial genders or pronouns, it makes the entire community look bad. Not to mention those discussions are usually a breeding ground for transphobia. Now, you may not care if the community is hated, especially if you’re in your own little internet bubble where everyone supports you and doesn’t dare disagree with you. But for people like me who have to deal with the hatred in every day life for simply existing… you get sick of it.

Of course it’s not your fault entirely, at the end of the day people need to understand that we aren’t some big hive mind. The trans community often disagrees with each other. However, you should reflect on your actions and realise how it may affect other people who don’t have a choice other than to transition.
