Minnesota will now have protections for child custody in regards to out of state anti trans laws. This means that a parent in Minnesota cannot have their child taken away if they themselves or the child (17 and under) is trans by another state. This was sparked by the bill in Florida about giving the right to family members in Florida to report and take away a child for having a trans relative even if theyโre in a different state.
It will also give protections to people seeking medical treatment in MN who are from states that have restricted it or had banned it.
