My state, Minnesota, has been recently called a safe haven or refuge state for trans people. As someone who lives here and has gone through the process of both HRT and top surgery, please don’t expect to be able to get these right away if you come here seeking it.
If there’s an influx of people coming here seeking to get these things there will be longer waiting lists and doctors/therapists will be spread out thinner due to more patients than normal. I’m not saying don’t come here if it’s going to be safer than your current situation but don’t get your hopes up too high regarding medical transitioning. We should not be having the MN government or hospitals be called transphobic just because someone can’t get testosterone or estrogen within a short time span of moving here. We can’t bite the hand that’s trying to lift us out of the water from drowning, please don’t act harsh and impatient if you come here so this won’t be seen as a mistake to our politicians and ally’s who are trying to support us.
