I have a major problem that I need some help with. A little back story:

I played trumpet in high school, I’ve since given that trumpet to my step-brother’s little sister. Yesterday I was gifted a trumpet, and tomorrow I have a performance for a local nonprofit organization. The trumpet that was gifted to me is in serious need of a cleaning and lube job!

Here is where my problem comes in. Every store that carries slide grease, valve oil, and cleaning kits in my area is closed due to it not only being Sunday… but also Memorial Day weekend!

What can I use for the valves without completely screwing it up?! I read on a different forum that I can use gun oil in a pinch, but I’m not sure I want to do that… although I suppose I could just clean the trumpet really well after the performance. I just need something to get me through the performance tomorrow until I can get to the store when it opens again.
