So little more context. I don’t play my trumpet much. I’m slowly becoming a comeback player. However due to moving a lot the past few years I wasn’t able to open it up for several years. Last time I ACTUALLY cleaned it was in 2017. But the valves still move pretty well. But when I play it, it sounds a little choppy. Idk if it’s just me but I checked my valves yesterday after finally getting it out and I noticed these nicks. I’m just wondering how bad this is and if I should just get new valves. I need it professionally cleaned anyways due to spotting corrosion near the bell. So, how bad is it?
