Hey everyone,
So figured this might be a good place to ask. I've been on Trulicity for T2 (1.5 dose) for about eight months now (I'd used it before, but it fell off during the shortage, then went to Ozempic and got destroyed by side effects). It's been pretty good for the majority of the time - other than slight queasiness for the first couple of days, no side effects and overall I have been pleased with the results.
However something seems to have changed as of about three weeks ago, and the dreaded sulphur burps have started. I usually inject on Sunday, then usually around Wednesday I start getting burps. Thursday sees that turn into painful stomach cramps and a lot of bloating, then some rather nasty watery diarrhea, then it usually clears by Friday's end.
Yesterday was pretty rough - I actually ended up having to throw up in the toilets at work, and my boss overheard and was worried enough to tell me I could go home.
I know these symptoms are common with Trulicity (and I experienced them a lot on Ozempic before quitting) but I've not heard of them happening out of the blue with no issues. My dose hasn't changed, although I have lost about 15kg/33lbs, so I don't know if maybe my lower body fat is making it hit harder? My doctor seems unconvinced it's a Trulicity thing, he believed it may be IBS, or when I mentioned the vomiting he believed it may have been viral. I am not convinced, but he's the expert so I'm going with what he says.
Any thoughts?
