My title might not make much sense, but what I’m talking is how you need so many hearts. The whole point of Breath of the Wild is its freedom; once you finish the tutorial area, you can go anywhere and do anything, because nothing is locked … except the Master Sword. I haven’t actually finished the game yet so I might be wrong, but I’m pretty sure it’s the only thing in the game locked behind a barrier of "just play/grind more" and I think it doesn’t fit the game at all, since it lets you do stuff like go straight for the final boss from the beginning. I get that they don’t want people to go straight for it at the beginning, but I feel like it could have been done in a better way like a trial to prove Link’s strength, which new players couldn’t do at the beginning when they’re still not very good, or if they still wanted a route like forcing the player to play more of the game, have it as a mission for after defeating the four Devine Beasts or counting the amount of shrines you’ve done.
Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like having to have a certain number of hearts doesn’t feel right and feels more like something in an RPG that hides stuff behind levels. What do you guys think?
