If prompted, how would you personally reimagine the stories and worlds of the CD-i games?

Laugh all you want, but underneath all that cheese there's some genuinely interesting stuff that could actually be taken seriously if the stories were retooled.

Other kingdoms that actually share involved relations with Hyrule in the form of Koridai, Gamelon, and Tolemac.

The Duke of an allied kingdom secretly working with Ganon against Hyrule.

One game where Ganon goes out of his way to capture a more vulnerable Link, and another where he tasks the aforementioned rival kingdom with incapacitating him, forcing Zelda to take initiative for herself.

A more active king who'll choose to help his people first before even considering sending anyone else, but is still wise enough to make a contingency plan in case he's lost in battle.

Active uses of the individual Triforce pieces beyond just being sweet tats for their respective bearers.

That wizard guy with the magic carpet; he seemed rad.

Silly as the games are, there are ideas that could work if handled by someone who gave more a shit about quality control, especially with over 25 years of hindsight.

If you had to keep the story beats from one (or all) of the CD-i installments, but could add or reshape anything you wanted in the process, how would you go about it? Bonus points if there's a timeline placement somewhere in there.
