The Hero's Aspect is stated by in-game text to "contain the spirit of a hero who once saved Hyrule." While wearing it, Impa says that Link "almost look(s) like that figure depicted on the screen", presumably indicating the BotW Tapestry sitting on the adjacent wall of her room.
But the Hero's Aspect is largely made up of the Zonaite Armor, and is presumably a Zonai or part-Zonai himself. If this is the Ancient Hero depicted in the tapestry, then are Rauru and Mineru in fact not the last of the Zonai? Did the Zonai Race persist for generations after their deaths? (Considering that the Sword of the Sages/Dusk Claymore also indicates that Zonai Ruins were built post-memories, they might have). Does this indicate that this hero was a descendant of the Royal Family, or are there possibly other surviving Zonai? Was The Princess of the tapestry also a Zonai/half Zonai? Or was this Hero too, simply wearing the Hero's Aspect to appear to be a Zonai?
I don't really know what to make of this lore revelation.
