Is Spotify Turning on Smart Shuffle Automatically?

I have no idea what's happening, but when I play a playlist, for some odd reason, Spotify turns on smart shuffle. Is this happening to anyone else or just me? I rarely use smart shuffle. I keep having to turn it off and it's kinda annoying.
