I just wrote a whole long post about what horrible people my ex step kids were. Then decided not to post it. But I need to say this somewhere that people might understand.

After 8 years of being a step parent (never again) to 3 horrible humans, and step grandparent to one out of control child, I'm free! Now I can watch that train wreck (which with 2 pregnancies and a 7 month old as well as an 8 year old is going to get a lot worse) from afar and know it no longer can affect me like it has for so long. I no longer have to hear the verbal abuse or the manipulation these kids use against their mother. I no longer have to hear her tell me that she's used to the abuse and that it's fine so why try to change anything.

My heart will always be sad for how her kids treat her, but I know so much she's brought on herself.

Either way, I'm free! Just me and my heart dog, my lizard, snake and fish. Soon adding a couple of birds.
