Hey all, just started TRT two weeks ago. As I live alone, I have been injecting myself with a 1 inch three gauge needle into my vastus lateralis (side and middle of upper quad for this who don’t know). Doesn’t feel great going in but that’s to be expected. My issue is starting in hours basically 2 through 48, The whole quad is a bit achy. It’s off and on, depending on what I do. I actually find activity and movement helps the pain and if I’m doing too much sitting and it gets stiff. The muscle itself is a bit sore. Kind of reminds me of DOMS type of pain, but unrelated to lifting. I have alternated thighs over 2 injections, with same feeling in the injected thigh both times. Other leg doesn’t have issues.
Anyway, is that normal? The Doc that I’ve been getting it from says it’s normal and my body is just adjusting to an IM injection. He said as I go through the process it will get less and less in the future. Would you guys agree? It’s not so much that I can’t take the pain (it’s probably only 3/10) it’s more I wanna make sure that this is not a sign of a serious side effect that I should be worried about (such as a blood clot, etc.)
Thank you!!
