[HELP] Getting started restoring a model 4

Post Body

Hello everyone! Thanks for having me.

I recently got my hands on a TRS-80 model 4, from my brother's high school, the 64k model. I'd love to get it to work, but I have no idea of where to start. Can anybody point me up where to look for?

So far, I know I need a 5.25 inch diskette with TRSDOS, which I don't have. I plan on getting one from a physical store and ask them to burn the image file to it for me.

Also half of the keycaps are missing and I need to know their form factor so I can order new ones.

I have access to a 3D printer, where I could print things like this replacement for one of the switches which has a broken stem.

the keyboard also has a small little hole in the board, which makes me super scared, but I can't think of how it could've been made, so I think it might not be that big of a deal.

I also saw some people modding the diskette trays to replace the readers with an SD card interface, which would be amazing, as I don't have any other means to read and write 5.25 diskettes.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks for your time and for your input on the matter!
