Trout from shore in Cork/Munster, Ireland?

Post Body

If one were in Cork City, had a tenkara and/or a spinning rod, and wanted to catch trout, where would be the best places to go?

I'm in Cork a couple times a year and have been meaning to go fishing in the area for a while, but haven't yet. I know that the area by the Lee fields is decent, or at least decent enough to have people fishing there regularly. Most of what I've been able to find through Google are private areas and guided trips, but I'd love to be able to make my own way.

The only issue is that I'm probably not going to be able to pack waders, so I'll be fishing from shore. Don't mind getting my feet a little wet if need be, but don't fancy having to stay in for long periods.

Could also make a day trip or overnight to Kerry or Waterford if there are some particularly good spots. This'd be for my upcoming trip in April, but any tips regardless of season would be much appreciated; as I said, I'm there a lot (and may be moving back in a few years).

Thanks!
